Dental implants are basically fixtures that are screwed to the jawbone which makes an artificial root over which the crown can then be fitted. The dental implants mainly consist of three parts which are given as follows:

• The first part of the implant is the small titanium screw which is screwed into the jawbone, titanium is used due to it being lightweight, Non-reactive and high durability.
• The second part is the abutment which is made of titanium or zirconium that sits atop the implant and over which the crown will be fitted.
• The last part is the crown itself which is set over the abutment, its appearance is no different from a natural tooth, the material from which the crown is made is either porcelain or ceramic.

Considering the current techniques for treating missing teeth or damaged teeth, that the dental implants are by far the best options which are longer lasting and much tougher that the other options of treatment.
